Guidance for Construction Equipment Rental – Questions to Ask Before Renting

Guidance for construction equipment rental should be one of the first things that you consider when you are looking at getting your equipment from someone. If you don’t, then it isn’t surprising. You have likely seen all the advertisements and commercials on TV for the various rental companies, including those that offer TV rental of construction equipment. You may even have seen a few of the TV ads where a man is talking to his assistant about their new equipment that they are going to try and get on the job.

Now imagine this situation: you are standing on the job site while the foreman is setting up the gear for the day. While he is setting everything up, you start to question whether or not it is safe to work with. You see one of the assistants pointing at a wall and making some recommendations to move it. She has been instructed by her supervisor to tell you to move the equipment to the wall. You ask her what is wrong, and she tells you that you shouldn’t be doing that, but rather, you should be looking at the wall to see what is available.

You look at the wall, and there is a piece of equipment that is very unstable. It is leaning and falling off its track. Your assistant tells you that it is unsafe to work around because of that hazard. You ask her if you can at least put the piece back on its track. 

So what does that have to do with you asking for guidance for construction equipment or air compressor rental? Simple, if your boss or someone else told you to move something, you would probably follow their direction. However, if you asked them specifically if you were supposed to do that, you would think twice about it. If you are going to rely on your judgment in this instance, that can lead to trouble. That’s why it is always a good idea to get some outside guidance before you start working with any equipment, even if you don’t want to hire someone to help you.

Another reason why you should ask questions before you work with any machinery is safety. There is always a chance that you will make a mistake. You never know when that machine will fall or how it is being operated. You need to be aware of that and not get too comfortable working with any piece of equipment until you understand everything that it is protecting you from.
